We are, John & Sheila and we've been
together for over 40 years. We lived and worked overseas for most of our
working life and then finally set our roots
in the New Forest in 1989

In 1992, we found our
first Sussex Spaniel, Twisting Gemini (Holly). She worked her
socks off for us when out beating and was also our foundation bitch.
Her final departure was
September 2007 at almost 15 years. She
produced our first litter of 8 strong healthy puppies in 1996. This
started us on our quest for healthy and long-lived Sussex Spaniels.
Since then
we’ve had 8 more Sussex Spaniel litters, always keeping a puppy. Spinning Jenny was
our first Quarr puppy. Our Sussex are all from the same family and live
in the house.
We have a
large group of Quarr Owners who regularly keep in touch, some are as
far away as Australia and USA. We’re privileged to live where there
are large expanses of open space to exercise our dogs. Keeping dogs is
hard work and requires dedication, but the Sussex can be loyal and
good companions, though sometimes a little frustrating to train.
